Atopic Model

Atopic Model is an inclusive and multidisciplinary skin advocacy platform created by model, artist and speaker - Aramidé. The objective is to challenge beauty norms and normalise skin conditions.

I have had eczema since I was 3 weeks old. Growing up, I never saw images of eczema and it added to the isolation skin conditions bring. I focused on how my skin would limit my life, rather than how I could overcome and embrace my chronic skin condition. Today, I am a UK based model and artist. I shoot a diverse range of subjects hoping to represent, empower and reduce the stigma associated with visible skin disease. I explores various mediums to create thought provoking pieces of art centred on skin.

As a model, I am intentionally visible, representing darker skin tones and normalising skin with a visible difference. By sharing my skin healing journey, I hope to inspire others to have the strength and confidence to overcome.
